Our Story
Our Story
The project started when a client from the ski industry reached out to me to design and build a fully custom website for both mobile and desktop.
The goal
was to create a reliable and intuitive user experience that works for different types of groups, including families, small groups, and friends.

I led
the UI and UX process end to end, from defining the user experience and information architecture to designing a clean and clear interface that supports confident decision making.

I was involved in the development phase
working closely with a developer to translate Figma designs into React code using AI tools like Bolt, v0, and Cursor.

Participants claim that online booking requires a phone call to finish
The booking process cannot be completed entirely online and requires a phone call to finalize reservations and payments,

Packages cannot be customized easily or independently to include services such as equipment and transfers.
I conducted user research through in person interviews with over 10 ski enthusiasts
&
observing discussions in ski focused Facebook groups.

The goal
was to understand what is missing in current ski booking websites and how different types of groups expect the package creation and payment flow to function.

Ariel’s Problem
Ariel wants to book a complete ski vacation fully online without having to make phone calls. He also struggles with the fact that the entire payment is often charged to one credit card, forcing him to pay for the whole group upfront.
His Needs:
Ability to complete the entire booking process online.
Option to split payments between multiple people.
Clear and transparent pricing, including a full breakdown of what is included in the package.
A simple and intuitive group booking experience with minimal friction.

Order Summary
This final view acts as a comprehensive dashboard, consolidating property details, dates, and individualized ski packages. To maintain financial transparency, I clearly visualized completed payments vs. remaining balances, providing a clear sense of status.
The flow ends with strategic primary actions, enabling users to complete outstanding payments or manage their trip via their personal dashboard.

1
Home Page
A bold, centralized search bar immediately draws attention and directs users toward their main goal- booking a ski vacation.
Supporting sections below build trust and context, including a brief brand introduction, reviews, a teaser of featured apartments, and prominent call to action buttons.

2
Our Apartments
This view utilizes spacious, clean property cards designed with a strict visual hierarchy to reduce cognitive load. By organizing property details strategically, I ensured the interface remains clutter free despite the data heavy nature of travel bookings.
A prominent, persistent search bar remains central to the layout, allowing users to adjust their criteria instantly without losing their place in the browsing flow.

The Selected Stay
This page serves as the ultimate decision making hub, featuring a media-rich gallery and a structured data layout that provides a comprehensive overview of the stay.
To minimize cognitive load, I utilized custom visual icons for amenities like laundry and kitchen kits, allowing users to scan for essentials instantly.
An interactive map provides crucial spatial context, pinpointing the property's exact location relative to ski lifts and resort hotspots. The flow culminates in a high visibility booking trigger, strategically placed to convert interest into a seamless checkout process.

Seal the Deal
The Checkout Phase- To accommodate diverse booking needs, I designed a flexible payment system that supports both group and individual transactions.
The interface presents a clear breakdown of costs per guest, allowing the primary user to pay for everyone or select specific individuals to pay for themselves. By implementing an automated SMS payment flow, I ensured that guests can complete their portion within a 24 hour window, while a single guest payment threshold secures the reservation immediately.
This approach eliminates financial friction within groups and provides a transparent, stress free closing to the booking experience.

Checkout & Customization
To handle the complexity of group bookings, I designed a multi step flow that starts with essential guest data and transitions into a dynamic personalization pop-up.
This interface allows each guest to customize their individual package, from airport transfers to ski gear- within a single booking.
To reduce cognitive load and help users understand their choices better, I integrated descriptive visual icons and clear pricing for every add on. This structured approach ensures a transparent and flexible experience, providing essential logistics like gear pickup locations while keeping the overall flow simple and clear.

Self Reflection
Self Reflection
I led the full process, from initial user research and information architecture to working closely with development to translate designs into React code.
I thoroughly enjoyed the process of solving complex problems, specifically turning heavy group logistics into a clean, reliable, and intuitive interface.
The challenge required me to balance business requirements with technical constraints while maintaining a precise visual hierarchy that supports confident decision-making.
Taking full ownership of this project from start to finish reinforced my ability to transform data-heavy systems into a seamless and accessible digital product.
